After receipt of the Superintendent's recommendations, the Board will establish the salaries and fringe benefits for all employees within the budgetary constraints of the District. Salaries in the District will be differentiated in relationship to duties and responsibilities. Minimum standards of eligibility for fringe benefits will be determined by the Board.
Every fiscal year, each School District employee will be provided a total compensation statement that is broken down by category of benefit or payment and that includes, for that employee, at least all of the following:
A. Base salary and any additional pay.
B. Medical benefits and the value of any employer-paid portions of insurance plan premiums.
C. Retirement benefit plans, including social security.
D. Legally required benefits.
E. Any paid leave.
F. Any other payment made to or on behalf of the employee.
G. Any other benefit provided to the employee.
Subject to the terms of employment contracts, the Governing Board at any time may reduce salaries or eliminate certificated teachers in the District in order to effectuate economies in the operation of the District or to improve the efficient conduct and administration of the District's schools. Notice of a general salary reduction shall be given each certificated teacher affected. These provisions do not apply to salary reductions from classroom site fund money.
Holidays
When July 4, Veterans Day, December 25, or Thanksgiving Day occurs within the school week, the schools shall be closed and the compensation of teachers shall not be diminished on that account.
The Board will annually determine and publish a list of other paid holidays for teachers and nonteaching professionals within the District.
Employees are eligible to receive compensation for holiday pay and/or paid nonworkdays under the following conditions:
A. The employee is actively working on the scheduled workday immediately before and after the holiday/paid non-workday, OR;
B. The employee is on approved paid leave (e.g., vacation, sick leave, annual leave).
Employees on unpaid leave, including unpaid Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) leave, on the day before or after the holiday/paid non-workday are not eligible to receive holiday or paid non-workday.
