GRADING / ASSESSMENT  SYSTEMS

A District-developed grading system will be utilized, including provisions for alternative grading systems for students with special needs or in other appropriate circumstances.

Final examinations may be used as evaluation of student achievement when they are conducted in such a way that they effectively evaluate the achievement of the goals and objectives on which learning activities have been based.

Teachers will keep a careful record of the grades assigned to students.  Teachers may only assign credit or bonus points for academic performance.  Donations of supplies, participation in fund-raising or other non-academic activities may not calculate into a student's grade.

Written and/or electronic reports concerning student achievement will be made to the parents every nine (9) weeks by the teacher, and additional written and/or electronic reports will be made when necessary.

Teachers will confer with parents when necessary concerning academic progress and discipline of students.

Teachers will report to parents on students' conduct, scholarship, attendance, or excessive tardiness.
