PART - TIME  AND  SUBSTITUTE
SUPPORT  STAFF  EMPLOYMENT

The Superintendent may employ, when conditions warrant, temporary or part-time personnel on a per diem or time card basis.  This authority is subject to the following conditions:

A.  Continued employment of any such person shall be subject to confirmation and approval by the Board at its next official meeting; however, employment shall not be recommended to the Board prior to satisfactory completion of any pending fingerprint check. Upon hire, the District will verify the validity of a noncertificated applicant's IVP fingerprint clearance card if they currently posses an active card.  Upon verification, the applicant will be able to begin the employment and may forego the fingerprint check.

If the applicant does not posses a valid Identity Verified Prints (IVP) fingerprint clearance card, employment shall not be recommended to the Board prior to satisfactory completion of any pending fingerprint check.

B.  The employee shall be hired on a per diem basis and shall be compensated in accordance with the requirements and limitations of existing contracts that cover similar positions or employees.

C.  In addition to the conditions set forth above, the temporary assignment of a person to a supervisory or administrative position shall be preceded by notification to the Board.  The Superintendent will detail the circumstances that created the need for the part-time employment.
