SICK LEAVE
Sick leave may be accumulated at the established rate, to an unlimited total accumulation. Sick leave is designed to be used for personal and/or family illness.
It is the responsibility of the staff member to keep the District informed as to all requests for leave. The District reserves the right to require medical verification for any absence when the appropriate use of sick leave is in question.
Employees shall request long-term medical leave, in accordance with Policy GCCC, when it is known that an absence for personal or family illness will exceed twenty (20) working days.
