NAMING  FACILITIES

When naming or renaming a District facility, upon direction of the Governing Board, the Superintendent may invite suggestions from the students, staff, and community in the attendance area of the facility or form an advisory committee consisting of said students, staff, and community members.  The Superintendent, under the direction of the Governing Board, may also forego the aforementioned committee based upon a significant factor in any of the categories in the policy.  The Governing Board shall make the final decision regarding the naming or renaming of facilities.

If established, an advisory committee shall have one chairperson designated by the Superintendent and up to (12) members selected by the Superintendent or Superintendent's designee.  After deliberation, the advisory committee shall submit up to three (3) name choices to the Governing Board.
