Transportation  for  Needy  Students

The Governing Board authorizes the administration to provide transportation for needy students per the income guideline scale for the applicable fiscal year, with the following criteria:

A.  The student must reside at least one and one-half (1 1/2) miles from his school of attendance.

B.  The student will be issued round-trip transportation.  Subsequent issuances will be based upon his attendance record.

Transportation  for  Students  with  Disabilities

The Governing Board authorizes the administration to provide transportation for students with disabilities if thier individual education programs indicate that transportation is required for them to benefit from the educational program.

Transportation  of  Magnet  Students

The District will make transportation available to students enrolled in magnet programs whose places of residence are outside of the attendance area of the magnet school and more than one and one-half (1 1/2) miles from the magnet school.

Transportation  for  Students  Who
Invoke  the  Ethnic  Transfer

The District will make transportation available to any student who invokes the ethnic transfer policy, and who resides one and one-half (1 1/2) miles from the receiving school.

The District will make transportation available to eligible students between thier home schools and Metro Tech High School for appropriate classes.

Transportation  of  Homeless  Students

Transportation for homeless students to their school of enrollment, if it is the school of origin, will be arranged as needed by the school liaison for homeless students.
