TOBACCO  USE  BY  STUDENTS

The possession or use of tobacco products, tobacco substitutes, nicotine products, electronic cigarettes, other chemical inhalation devices, or vapor products is prohibited in the following locations:

A.  School grounds.

B.  School buildings.

C.  School parking lots.

D.  School playing fields.

E.  School buses and other District vehicles.

F.  Off-campus school-sponsored events.

The Superintendent may establish procedures necessary to implement this policy.  Disciplinary consequences for the possession or use of tobacco, nicotine, or similar products (including any inhaled tobacco or nicotine substitute) may include, but are not limited to, suspension of the student from school or a recommendation for expulsion when there is evidence of repeated and continuous violation of this policy.

Under the provisions of A.R.S. 36-798.03, a person who violates the prohibition is guilty of committing a petty offense.
