EVALUATION  OF  SUPPORT
STAFF  MEMBERS

All support personnel shall be evaluated by the appropriate supervisor or administrator.  A written evaluation of effectiveness of each support staff member shall be completed during the first year of employment and not later than ninety (90) days after the first day of work.  A second first-year evaluation will be not later than the anniversary date of employment.  At least once each year thereafter, an evaluation will be conducted.  The evaluation will be used to increase job proficiency and for recommending continued employment.

The performance of an employee may be reviewed and rated at any time the employee's performance is believed to be other than satisfactory.  Such a rating may include:

A.  Revised ratings on the basis of a performance level that has changed significantly since the last review. Ratings may be revised after six (6) months of sustained changed performance or as the result of ninety (90) days follow-up reviews of deficiencies.

B.  Deficiency reviews officially record a weakness or weaknesses that an employee is required to correct. In such cases, a follow-up review and reevaluation is automatically required within ninety (90) days.

C.  The overall performance of a staff member who terminates for any reason is a means of providing a record for consideration in the event of application for reinstatement, rehire or references. If an evaluation was completed within ninety (90) days prior to the termination and the performance has not changed, another evaluation does not need to be completed.
